„The idea is that everybody can use it“ – this is how Dr.-Ing. Benjamin Bayart (TechViz) summarized the main advantage of the software TechViz XL at the Presentation Day at KIT on 14th October 2014. TechViz XL works like a driver for other software systems – such as IPS Cable Simulation – to display 3D models in real time directly from the desktop 3D application into a virtual environment: Users of this tool don’t have to adjust to a new software program and hence directly benefit from the advantages of VR visualization without data conversion.
In lectures the visitors of the Presentation Day had the chance to learn more about VR and to get to know some practical application fields in project examples. In addition to the presentations, there were live demonstrations of different examples for VR visualization with TechViz technology. Representatives from science and industry were highly interested in the VR visualization of IPS Cable Simulation and seized the opportunity to try VR cable simulation on the Powerwall using shutter glasses with integrated head-tracking-system and flystick as well as on a 3D monitor.
In this video you can see the impressive 3D visualization of IPS Cable Simulation on the Powerwall.
A great number of users of IPS Cable Simulation and scientists from across Germany accepted the invitation. There was a lively exchange between responsibles from different companies and academic experts. The TechViz-Presentation Day therefore provided a framework for the constitution of a cable simulation network.
