This year, our IPS Conference will take place on 1st November, 2019 in Tokyo, Japan.

Flexstructures and partner SCSK will be welcoming more than 100 participants from many different companies in Japan. The conference will be a great opportunity for networking among industry experts, developers, and users. Our representatives Dr. Klaus Dreßler (Division Director Mathematics for Vehicle Engineering, and Head of Department Dynamics, Loads and Environmental Data at Fraunhofer ITWM), and Thomas Tegen (Product Owner of IPS Cable Simulation) will fly to Japan and present:

  • The newest features and modules of IPS
  • Wiring harness design
  • Digital assembly planning

Besides that, industrial applications of IPS will also be reported at the conference by our industrial partners. A broad range of use cases in electronics, automotive, motorcycle, machinery, railway, and aerospace industry will be showcased at the conference by industrial experts, technicians, and suppliers.

Especially, this year representative of our partner BMW Group in Germany will come to Tokyo, and present a case study of simulation-based geometric integration process for flexible parts.

Autumn is coming, it is also the oncoming time of our IPS Conference in China. This year, the conference will take place on 29th October 2019, in Shanghai.

Our representatives Dr. Klaus Dreßler (Division Director Mathematics for Vehicle Engineering, and Head of Department Dynamics, Loads and Environmental Data at Fraunhofer ITWM), Thomas Tegen (Product Owner of IPS Cable Simulation), Valerio Cibrario (Managing Director at fleXstructures Italy) will fly to China to participate in the event. At the conference, the following topics will be discussed:

  • The newest features and modules of IPS
  • IPS application in wiring harness design and power systems
  • Solutions of virtual assembly validation

Besides that, industrial applications of IPS will also be reported at the conference by our industrial partners. A broad range of use cases in electronics, automotive, motorcycle, machinery, railway, and aerospace industry will be showcased by industrial experts, technicians, and suppliers.

On 26 September 2019 we will participate in the 1st Stuttgart Conference on the Future of Automobile Production.

The Conference will report current status and innovative trends of future automobile production. It will also emphasize on the actions and needs of automotive value creation in the field of transformation.

Our expert, Dr.-Ing. Joachim Linn, Head of Department Mathematics for the Digital Factory at Fraunhofer ITWM, will share insights into the Topic of Human-centered Cable Assembly Simulation in Automotive Production.

High-tech from Kaiserslautern

We were awarded with the Innovation Price Rhineland-Palatinate 2019! Managing Director Oliver Hermanns received the award at a ceremony at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Ludwigshafen from the Minister of Economic Affairs, Dr. Volker Wissing.

The prize is awarded jointly by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Transport, Agriculture and Viticulture and the Associations of Chambers of Industry and Commerce and Chambers of Crafts.

Award for measuring machine MeSOMICS and IPS Cable Simulation

Together with the Fraunhofer ITWM we were awarded in the category “Cooperation”. We received the price for the innovative interaction of the measuring machine MeSOMICS and IPS Cable Simulation – a unique combination of correct stiffness values of cables and hoses and physically correct simulation in real time.

fleXstructures Italia will participate to the MECSPE Parma Fairground, the reference fair for the digital factory 4.0, edition 2019 (https://www.mecspe.com/en/).

fleXstructures Italia will have a booth in Pavilion 5, which is addressed to Automation and Robotics, stand L21.

fleXstructures Italia will be presenting the three main focused innovative fields domains of the portfolio, consisting of IPS Cable Simulation, IPS Robotics and IPS IMMA.

An area dedicated to the IPS Virtual Reality system will also be at the booth. You will then have the possibility to test and concretely feel the usage of IPS solutions in a full immersive virtual environment, understanding the advantages of the solution especially for its user-friendliness real-time performance.

The Ministry of Economics, Transport, Agriculture and Viticulture of Rhineland-Palatinate and the Investitions- und Strukturbank Rheinland-Pfalz (ISB) awarded our company the Success Award 2018.

Every year, this award is going to small and medium-sized companies that have realized future-oriented developments of new products, production processes and technology-oriented services themselves and also successfully established them on the market.

The award-winning solution MeSOMICS an innovative measuring machine was developed and patented at Fraunhofer ITWM and is now distributed worldwide by fleXstructures GmbH. In combination with the simulation software IPS Cable Simulation, a complete solution was created that makes it possible to optimally accommodate several kilometers of cables and hoses in the small installation spaces of modern vehicles.

The industry can now measure the mechanical properties of cables and hoses and reproduce them realistically in the simulation.

Our CEO Oliver Hermanns and Dr. Klaus Dreßler, Head of Department at Fraunhofer ITWM were very pleased to receive the renowned award from Dr. Volker Wissing, Minister of Economic Affairs, and Dr. Ulrich Link, CEO of ISB.
